Wearing one of the many costumes my mother made for me as a child. Halloween 1997

I have been passionate about costumes since I was a kid. For Halloween every year I would plan my costume months in advance. After many months of anticipation and planning my mother sewed them up for me. As I got older I began to make my own costumes and have not stopped since. Making costumes as a hobby has always brought me great joy but it never occurred to me until recently that I could actually have a career doing what I love. I have recently decided to go back to college to study Design and Technical Theater at George Mason University.

Aside from having over 15 years of sewing experience I have a few other hobbies that come in handy when making costumes. I am a collector of hobbies including beading, jewelry making, hobby electronics, 3D printing, and more. I am always experimenting and learning as many new things as I can. I also have a recent interest in wearable electronics. I look forward to begin incorporating technology into some of my future costume projects. I also have taught sewing classes and currently am a sewing and wearable electronics at our campus makerspace, GMU MIX. I am always open to collaborations with other makers or artists.
